Musings of the Faceless
And what was my name?
I can’t remember
Was I like a flame?
Passionate like an ember?
What color was my hair?
What hue were my eyes?
Did I ever breathe air?
In the grass did I lie?
Dear Lord I can’t remember!
Did I ever see December?
Did they see me smile?
Did they hold me for a while?
It was all so fast, all I saw was black!
Was I good enough? Or did I lack?
My hands remained numb
My ears never heard a strum
My tongue stayed tasteless
Lord,
Why did I remain faceless?
********************************************
Anonymous lies
Seep into our brains
Autonomous cries
Pour from their veins
Their dreams blackened, their bodies torn
The only difference was they were unborn
