Like a Child
” the danger of a Western perspective is thinking that if something isn’t neatly packaged, it’s no good. And unfortunately, some Western Christians think that unless a person says the creed just like they do, they don’t know God. Yet what does an infank know of his mother? He knows she nourishes him. she changes him. She embraces him, she kisses him— she must be a friend. That child doesn’t know his mother as well as he will when he’s eighteen. But he knows her enough to LOVE her. I believe that as God reals himself there are levels of understanding that are bound to vary.” -The Case For Faith, Lee Strobel- (Visual Edition)
**** This is so true, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it after I read it. A baby loves his mother with his whole being. But why? he doesn’t know her favorite color, her favorite food, or even her name perhaps. But he knows that she feeds him, hugs him, protects him, plays with him, loves him, and gave him LIFE! He doesn’t really need to know anything else, he just needs to trust her and depend on her. That’s so AWESOME!!! Thats all we really actually need to know about God, just enough to love him. He loves us, protects us, nourishes us, forgave us and gave us our very lives, HIS very life!!! what more do we need to know in order to believe him?! Many times we get caught up trying to memorise the Bible or going to small groups or singing songs of worship, but we forget the main part, the reason that we love him!
” Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom. What’s more, whoever welcoms a little child in my name is the same as welcoming me.” -Matthew 18:5
